This is our mission statement.....well, kinda sorta. We really don't have a mission statement but if ever our churchs need a mission statement, this one is it!

BUILD UP THY CHURCH

Except the Lord conduct the plan,

The best concerted schemes are vain, And never can succeed;

We spend our wretched strength for naught;

But if our works in Thee be wrought, They shall be blessed indeed.

Lord, if Thou didst Thyself inspire

Our souls with this intense desire Thy goodness to proclaim,

Thy glory if we now intend,

Oh, let our deeds begin and end complete in Jesus' name.

Now, Jesus, now Thy love impart,

To govern each devoted heart, and fit us for Thy will;

Deep-founded in the truth of grace,

Build up Thy rising church, and place the city on a hill.

O let our love and faith abound;

O let our lives, to all around, with purest luster shine;

That all around our works may see,

And give the glory, Lord, to Thee, The heavenly light divine.

Our Mission Statement

While we do not have a mission statement per se, it is my belief that as a Church (body of believers) and as Christians we do have a Mission Statement that should be used by all God's children. That Mission Statement is found in the Great Commission:

Matthew 28:19-20..."Go ye therefore, and teach all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father, and of the Son, and of the Holy Ghost: Teaching them to observe all things whatsoever I have commanded you: and, lo, I am with you alway, even unto the end of the world." KJV

This is merely my opinoin but I can't think of a greater Mission statement than that of the Great Commission. It is the Church's job to go forth and teach the Good News of Jesus Christ, and yes, even reach out to those we don't like very well. Its not whether we like them or not; it is our job to preach the Good News. So, if you are ever asked what our mission statement is, just tell them its the Great Commission from Matthew 28:19-20.

Truly I don't believe that we should stay behind our beautiful church doors. The lost are not in the church...they are on the outside and we have to go to them.
